The following is a list of features supported by FM 2.1 that were
not supported by FM 2.0:

multiple processes per node,
-
using the CPU/memory bus as a transport when FM processes are located
on the same machine,

multiple APIs per program (e.g. both SHMEM and MPI at the same
time), and
-
processes that join and leave programs dynamically.
In addition, FM 2.1's raw performance exceeds that of FM 2.0,
which translates into better performance for all APIs built atop FM.
