The user can kill a batch job which is in a pending or running state on the HPVM cluster by selecting the `Kill Job' option from the `Job Management' menu. This option requires the user to have authenticated himself on the HPVM cluster by using the `Log On' option from the `Authentication' menu. If the user attempts to use the job kill function prior to authenticating himself, an error message will be displayed in the text area in the client's main window.
After selecting the `Kill Job' option, a dialog box is displayed on the user's screen prompting the user for the job ID of the batch job to kill. If the user enters a valid batch job ID, and if the user is the owner of the batch job selected or is an LSF administrator, a kill signal is sent to the batch job. If the user is not the owner of the batch job selected or is not an LSF administrator, an error message is returned.
