HPVM is a complex system and may require other software components to be installed properly.

Interaction with VI Providers

The file VIPL.DLL is required in the system32 directory under the windows NT installation directory (usually winnt\system32). If you have previously installed a VI provider (like Giganet), then VIPL.DLL should already be properly installed. In this case, the HPVM setup will simply use the installed library and not overwrite your installation.

If no VI provider (and you don't have VI hardware) is installed, then the HPVM setup will install a stub VIPL.DLL library in system32. If you choose to install VI hardware after installing HPVM, you will probably want to delete HPVM's stub library before performing your new hardware installation. Alternatively, simply uninstall HPVM1.9, install your new hardware, and reinstall HPVM1.9.
