The provided setup.exe program supports several different installation
types. The one you choose depends upon which subsystem(s) need to be installed
on a particular machine. Here we summarize the supported installation
types. Note that the Custom setup type should be used if more than
one major component needs to be installed on a single machine. For example,
it would be common to install the Java Server and the Global Manager on
one machine.
- Compute Node - Installs the device driver,
Context Manager, sample network configuration file, and Network control program.
- Global Manager - Installs the global resource manager service.
- Development Libraries - Installs libraries, include files, examples to
compile and link HPVM applications.
- Java Server - Installs into your WWW server directory the class
files for the Java client and the corresponding back-end server
- Source Code - If licensed, the complete source code will be installed
onto the target system
- Custom - If more than one of the above installations needs to be
performed on the same machine, then choose components in the custom setup.
- Workstation Setup - This allows HPVM development and testing on
a single workstation. This does not require any high-performance network cards
(but does require TCP/IP to be installed). All necessary components are
installed for a stand-alone HPVM installation.
