HPVM Front-end
The HPVM front-end is a Java applet and daemon which together support convenient
remote use of cluster computation resources. The front-end provides a graphical
user interface which can be run on any machine supporting the Java Virtual
Machine, and talks to the front-end daemon which in turn submits jobs and
gathers cluster status information from Platform
Computing's Load Sharing Facility (LSF) queue manager. Thus, remote
users can submit jobs, monitor their progress, and examine their results.
For members of the NCSA - National Computational Science Alliance, we have
negotiated a special licensing deal has been negotiated with Platform
computing for LSF on Windows NT. If you are a member of the alliance,
please contact the Licensing folks
at Platform Computing (please include "HPVM User, NCSA Member" in your
email header). If there is any question about the arrangements after you
have done so, you can contact the HPVM
Team.
